Risk factors of cardiovascular disease

Prevalence rate of cardiovascular disease are continuous increasing in Thailand due to non-modifiable factors; age, gender, genetics, and modifiable factors; unhealth diet, lack of exercise, stress. However, getting regular checkups is key to reducing your risk of cardiovascular disease.

 

Risk factors of cardiovascular disease

  • Age
  • Genetics
  • Smoking
  • High cholesterol food
  • Men are inherently more susceptible to cardiovascular disease than women.
  • People with diabetes are 2 to 4 times more likely than others to develop cardiovascular disease.
  • People who are less than 50 years old with high blood pressure more than 140/90 mmHg are increased to develop cardiovascular disease than normal blood pressure.
  • People are diagnosis with hyperlipidemia.
  • Who have body mass index (BMI) more than 23, Women Asia has waist circumference more than 32 inch. (80 cm), And Men Asia has waist circumference more than 35 inch. (90 cm) increased risk of cardiovascular disease.

 

Signs of cardiovascular disease

  • Chest Pain or pressure
  • Discomfort or tingling in the back, shoulder, arms, neck, or jaw.
  • Feeling heart burn or indigestion
  • Discomfort or tingling in one or both arms.
  • Fluttering feeling in the chest (Palpitation) or Arrhythmia
  • Trouble breathing and dizziness.
  • Feeling weak
  • Leg swelling
